WHAT IS HYDRADERMABRASION?

A hydradermabrasion facial is a revolutionary, medical grade procedure that uses non-invasive water and serums to simultaneously exfoliate and hydrate the skin. Considered to be a newer form of microdermabrasion, this minimally invasive procedure is becoming more and more popular for those looking to achieve perfect, radiant skin.

The main advantage hydradermabrasion has over microdermabrasion is the fact that it is much less invasive. Microdermabrasion involves using microcrystals or diamond particles to buff and exfoliate the top layer of skin which can prove to be overly uncomfortable for those with sensitive or dry skin. It can also have adverse effects for these skin types such as tender or red skin.

With hydrodermabrasion machine, the treatment is much gentler. Because the procedure has an added aspect of hydration, patients can avoid the post-treatment redness, dryness or tenderness that may come with microdermabrasion. This makes it also suitable for all skin types from I- VI, including dry skin and mature skin.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Hydradermabrasion is performed by a hydra dermabrasion machine. These devices use a 3 step process to give you glowing, radiant skin.

Our Customized Hydradermabrasion Facial starts with steam, double cleanse and gly-sal wash, followed by diamond tipped wand to exfoliate and extract microcomodones and finished with antioxidant enriched serums and skin boosters to treat, hydrate and protect with ELTA MD, mineral based SPF 46+.  DELUXE HYDRA GLOW FACIAL includes Dermaplaning and  can be incorporated into this luxury skin care ritual. STEP 1 - CLEANSE & EXFOLIATE 

First we steam, remove makeup and double cleanse, followed by a Gentle exfoliation with the device’s applicator which opens pores and removes dead skin cells, helping brand new skin resurface.

STEP 2 - CLEANSE & EXTRACT

Deep cleaning suction along with deeply penetrating active antioxidant and vitamin rich ingredients are used to loosen and extract dirt and debris from deep within the skin, leaving it clean and optimal for effective solution absorption.

STEP 3 - HYDRATE AND PROTECT

The suction simultaneously infuses an antioxidant rich solution into the skin with anti-inflammatory and anti-ageing properties promoting elasticity and hydration and preventing post-procedure redness or dryness. Finally, ELTA MD sunscreen, mineral based SFP 46+ is applied.

HOW DOES IT DIFFER FROM MICRODERMABRASION? Microdermabrasion uses diamond microcrystals to exfoliate the skin’s top layer and clear out the pores. The procedure features a handheld applicator with a brush or abrasive surface to get rid of impurities and dead skin cells. 

Comfort levels vary; microdermabrasion can be slightly uncomfortable for some. The procedure does not hurt, but your skin may be a little tender and red. It is safest and most effective when done by professionals, instead of purchasing a DIY kit and doing the treatment at home.

WHAT IS DERMPLANING? 

Dermaplaning is an innovative approach to removing dead skin cells, allowing a jump start for skin renewal and infusion of nutrients. It is a simple and safe procedure using a sterile blade for exfoliating the top layer of the skin and ridding the skin of fine vellus hair (peach fuzz). This treatment results in a more refined, smooth, “glowing” appearance.

WHAT TO EXPECT?

• Dermaplaning is a simple, easy, painless, non-invasive manual skin exfoliation treatment.
• Treatment includes cleansing, steaming and preparing the skin for the manual exfoliation process. Then an anti-aging eye treatment, moisturizer, and sunblock are applied.
• The dermaplaning treatment takes approximately 45 minutes depending on the area being treated.
• This treatment can be performed at any time of the year on all skin types and there is no discomfort with this treatment.
• Normal activities may be resumed immediately.

AFTER CARE:
• The skin will be more sensitive to sun exposure, so an SPF of 50 or higher is required for a minimum of the first 2 weeks.
• Many clients see results after their first treatment, noticing better skin clarity, clearer pores, softer skin, and reduce fine lines.

COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

If I remove my facial hair will it grow back darker and thicker?

The answer is NO. There are two types of hair on the human body, terminal and vellus hair. Terminal hairs are the thick pigmented hairs that grow by the influence of hormones (legs, armpits, scalp, pubic area, etc). Vellus hairs are fine translucent hairs usually found on a woman’s face, back, or chest. Unlike terminal hairs, when vellus hairs are cut they grow back with the same thickness and length as before, only with a blunt tip, and are expected to return in approximately two to four weeks post-procedure. Removal of vellus hair and dead skin cells allow for the proper penetration of other facial products, increasing their efficacy and ultimately their results.

HOW OFTEN?

Dermaplaning removes about 2-3 weeks of dead skin cells, so in order for your skin to complete its normal skin cycle, approximately 30 days, the treatments should be done about once a month.

What’s the difference between shaving and Dermaplaning?

People often think that they are one and the same. They are not. Dermaplaning is performed by trained Medical Esthetic Professionals using a surgical scalpel on tautly stretched skin. Most razors have two blades that are much duller than a surgical blade. Dermaplaning requires short strokes at a certain angle in particular patterns depending on the facial region and resurfaces skin on a much deeper and more effective level than shaving.

WHAT IS AN HERBAL CHEMICAL PEEL?

An herbal chemical peel for the face is a procedure in which a plant based phyto-chemical solution containing antioxidants and vitamins is applied to the skin to remove damaged skin cells, treat wrinkles and correct scars and sunspot discolorations.

Chemical peels contain different types of acids that have varying depths of skin penetration. There are many options depending on your needs and how sensitive your skin is.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Chemical peeling is done in a dedicated office room with appropriate lighting and ventilation. You will be lying down in a supine position, and your eyes will be closed for the procedure with appropriate eye protection.

A neutral paste may be applied in areas around your eyes, nose and mouth to prevent the chemical peeling solution from pooling in those areas. For deeper peels, a hand held fan may be given right before the procedure to reduce discomfort.

The application method may be different depending on the chosen peeling agent. Liquid solutions may be applied using a brush, cotton tip applicator, or gauze swab. For gels, usually, a wooden or plastic spatula is used. The peeling agent is first applied to areas with thicker skin, such as the forehead, cheeks, nose and chin. It is then spread to the other areas of the face using firm, even strokes in the same direction.

You may feel some mild tenderness while the chemical peel is on your skin. Upon completion of the procedure, a neutralizing wash or cool compress may be used on the face.

AFTER CARE:

After a chemical peel, your skin will be likely red and appear irritated. Deeper chemical peels may result in increased redness and swelling. It is also normal to feel some continued burning or stinging. A protective ointment such as petroleum jelly can be applied to soothe the area, and symptoms should begin to resolve within one to two weeks.

Makeup can usually be worn the next day for light peels, and after a week for medium peels. It may take a few months for the skin to fully return to normal and show complete results of the peel. Recommendations such as routine cleansing, moisturizing and sun exposure minimization will help prolong the results of the chemical peel.

WHAT ARE GROWTH FACTORS?

Growth factors are responsible for the repair of damaged skin, providing healing and restoring firmness and elasticity by promoting the formation of elastin and collagen. WHAT IS BB GLOW?

BB Glow is a minimally invasive and non-surgical procedure that uses a highly effective tinted pigment, applied by using a nano-needle or microneedle to penetrate the skin. WILL I HAVE RECOVERY TIME AFTER MY NATURAL GROWTH FACTOR INJECTIONS MICRONEEDLING TREATMENTS?

Everyone heals differently. Most clients experience swelling and redness two to four days after the procedure. The skin may become dryer for the following two weeks, however makeup my be applied 24 to 48 hours after the treatment.

HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?

Depending on your individual goals and your skin’s health, we typically recommend multiple treatments. Most clients undergo three procedures separated by four weeks, but we will create a customized treatment plan tailored to your unique needs.

WHAT SHOULD I AVOID AFTER TREATMENT WITH NATURAL GROWTH FACTORS?

Do not apply anything to the skin for 24 hours post-treatment. Expect redness and/or swelling, which will resolve within 1-2 day following treatment. After 24 hours, you may use a gentle cleanser and your daily SPF. Avoid direct sun exposure for 2 weeks after treatment, but always use sunscreen as part of your daily skincare routine.

WHO IS A GOOD CANDIDATES FOR THIS TREATMENT?

Good candidates for microneedling would be anyone interested in a minimally invasive treatment for scars, wrinkles, or hyperpigmentation. Can be performed on all skin colors and all year round with proper sun protection unlike chemical peels.

WHAT AREAS DOES IT TREAT?

Can be used on face, neck, chest, arms, legs, stomach, elbows, knees or any area that needs skin tightening and rejuvenation.

At your initial appointment, your provider will ask questions about your medical history and expectations. They’ll also take photos of your face to determine the best technique for your condition, as well as provide instructions on how to prepare for the procedure.

If you have active acne breakouts, you may be asked to take oral antibiotics. If you have a history of cold sores, you might need to take oral antiviral medication.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

1. A certified provider cleans your skin with gentle cleanser and alcohol prep to prevent infection.
2. They apply a topical anesthetic to the treatment area about 30 minutes before the procedure. The anesthetic numbs the area so you won’t feel pain.
3. The RF Microneedling handpiece is applied to your skin. Simultaneously, the tip releases radiofrequency waves into the skin.
4. The procedure takes 10 to 20 minutes. The exact duration depends on what you’re treating.
5. A provider applies a epidermal  growth factor to support cell regeneration. They finish with HA and EGF skin booster,  soothing ointment and ELTA MD mineral based SPF 46+ sunscreen.

AFTERCARE:

After your procedure, your skin care provider will explain how to care for your skin. This will include the following aftercare tips:

• Apply ice packs to reduce swelling and discomfort.
• Wear SPF for several weeks after your treatment. Your skin will be extra sensitive to the sun during this time.
• Use antibiotic creams or emollients provided.
• Use a gentle cleanser after your treatment.
• Avoid wearing makeup until the next day. After 24 hours, you can return to your normal makeup and skin care routine.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS AND WHEN WILL I NOTICE RESULTS?

You’ll see results after 3 to 6 monthly treatments. The exact time frame depends on the type and severity of your condition.

In most cases, you’ll need at least four sessions. This also depends on what you’re treating. For example, if you have moderate acne scars, you’ll need about 4-6 treatments. Bigger scars might need 6-12 treatments.

These sessions will be done every 4 to 6 weeks. This lets your skin heal between treatments and allows for collagen and elastin formation.

After the initial set of treatments, it is recommended every two months it’s recommended to have a touch-up session once every two months to maintain your desired results.

IS IT SAFE?

Radiofrequency is considered safe, but it isn’t appropriate for everyone.

You may be an ideal candidate if you:

• are in good health
• have early signs of aging
• have realistic expectations

Alternatively, you should avoid the treatment if you:

• currently or recently used Accutane
• have an active cold sore breakout
• have a skin infection
• have a moderate to severe skin disease (like psoriasis)

WHAT TO DO BEFORE AND AFTER MY APPOINTMENT?

It is recommended that you abstain from sugar and refined carbohydrates 2 hours prior and 2 hours post treatment. We recommend 30 minutes of light exercise with in one hour to better eliminate fat from the cells and improve lymphatic drainage.

WHAT IS LASER HAIR REMOVAL?

Laser hair removal is a  procedure that uses a concentrated beam of light (laser) to remove unwanted hair.

During laser hair removal, a diode laser emits a light that is absorbed by the pigment (melanin) in the hair. The light energy is converted to heat, which damages the hair bulb within the skin (hair follicles) that produce hairs. This damage inhibits or delays future hair growth.

Although laser hair removal effectively delays hair growth for long periods, it usually doesn't result in permanent hair removal. Multiple laser hair removal treatments are needed for initial hair removal, and maintenance treatments might be needed as well. Laser hair removal is most effective for people who have light skin and dark hair, but it can be successfully used on all skin types.

WHAT IS PROFESSIONAL TEETH WHITENING?

Professional Teeth Whitening Treatment is non-sensitizing and whitens up to eight shades in 1 Hr session30 Min Touch ups 

THE PROCESS: The technician will first record the shade of your teeth. This is to get an idea about the degree to which your teeth have to be whitened. It will also help the technician to figure out how concentrated the whitening solution has to be to get that shade.

The technician will then give you a cloth to clean and polish your teeth. The whitening agent is best absorbed by a dry surface, and thus, your technician may even keep a gauze pad to dry your teeth. Cleaning your teeth also helps in getting rid of any existing plaque from your teeth, before whitening. The technician will then show you how to place a retractor in your mouth to keep your gums, tongue, and lips from interfering with the whitening agent.

A professional hydrogen peroxide solution, which is the best bleaching agent known for teeth whitening will be used to coat your teeth. The frontal side of your teeth will be coated, while the posterior side will be left out. This is because the purpose of whitening your teeth is just to improve the aesthetics of your smile, and the backside of your teeth doesn’t show no matter how wide you smile! The solution temporarily opens up the pores in your teeth, penetrating them and fighting off the stains from within to whiten your teeth. The coating would stay on your teeth for nearly half an hour before the technician  decides to proceed to the next step.

Your mouth will then be rinsed, thoroughly. This is to get rid of any residue of the solution. 

Your teeth will finally be rinsed with fluoride mouthwash. Fluoride is given to keep the shine of your teeth and sustain the whiteness you’ve just achieved. Besides, fluoride also helps in getting rid of any existing plaque in your mouth, since they work as a catalyst in staining your teeth!  Our process is painless and there should be no sensitivity unlike over the counter whitening strips. Want to sustain that whiteness for a long time to come? Generally, clients come in every 6 months.

 AFTER CARE FOR ONE DAY:

Do not drink coffee, dark soda or tea, smoking, and dark food like wine, berries and tomato sauce, just to name a few to elongate the life of the whiteness in your teeth!

WHAT ARE WRINKLE RELAXERS?

Jeuveau claims to work faster than its predecessor BOTOX Cosmetic, with results appearing as early as 2-3 days after injection. It is also said to last longer than Botox with effects lasting up to 5 months.
